| We all enjoy scouting and the advantages that is brings us, but we also feel that we are of the age where
we can start putting a little back into the world, as a thankyou for what it has given us. We all do our bit for
the environment and the community locally, either with school projects, Duke of Edingburgh or Scout projects or just
with our families. We recycle, we look after our environment, we all do our bit locally but when it comes to helping
out the needy in poorer areas of the world about all anyone can realistically do is donate money to the charities
that work overseas. We have decided to go one step further, instead of sending money we have decided to team up with
other Explorers around the country and send ourselves. Working with South African aid agencies we will be travelling
to various parts of the country to undertake community projects such as well building and water transfer systems,
helping with building schools, working with the National Game Warden society to help protect against poachers and so
on. 3 Explorers from Magellan have been selected for this expedition and we are desperately trying to raise £3000 each, £9,000 in total
to fund the projects that we wish to do. We have approximately 15 months to raise this money, On this page will be lists of fundraising activities, sponsored events, sales etc that they are organising to help raise the funds for this trip. If you would like to assist in any way please contact us. |
